Tournament Rules
CAHA Rules will apply with the following Tournament Rules;
Any abuse of officials will not be tolerated and will result in tournament expulsion
Any abuse of timekeepers will not be tolerated and will result in a minor unsportsmanlike penalty
Any major penalty is a tournament ejection
Any major fighting penalty is a game ejection and tournament expulsion
Any player receiving 3 penalties in one game will receive game ejection (double minors are considered 2 penalties)
Maximum 2 coaching staff only on bench during games
Harassment of any players by coaching staff will result in ejection from bench & a minor penalty
A team will forfeit their game if they use a suspended player
Any forfeited game will be a 3 - 0 score
No body checking
Slapshots not allowed in Oldtimers & Recreational divisions
Slapshots in Oldtimers & Rec will result in an immediate whistle (no penalty)
No centre ice in effect except for icing only
Accidental highsticking that results in an injury is a double minor penalty
Intent to injure is a major penalty, game ejection & tournament expulsion
Contact with the puck above shoulders is an immediate whistle & faceoff in offenders zone
Games will be two periods - 1st - 25 minutes / 2nd - 20 minutes
If the score is within 2 goals, the last 2 minutes will be stop time
During running time, minor penalties will be 3 minutes
During running time, major penalties will be 7 minutes
During stop time, minor penalties will be 2 minutes
During stop time, major penalties will be 5 minutes
In playoffs only, for a tied game at the end of regulation time, there will be a 5 minute, running time, sudden death period
If the game is still tied after sudden death, teams will take 3 penalty shots to decide the final score
If the teams are still tied, each team will take a penalty shot each until a winner is decided
If there is a conflict in sweater colours, the tournament co-chairs will decide sweater colours
No stick measurements allowed
No time outs allowed except in Final games
CSA approved helmets must be worn by all players
CSA approved helmets and masks must be worn by all goalies
All other disputes or conflicts will be settled by the tournament co-chairpersons
Tie Breaker Format
To be used to determine playoff positions when teams are tied in points;
1. Head to head competition
2. Team winning most games
3. Team with the greatest goal spread
4. Goals scored against are divided into goals scored; team with the greatest quotient
5. Teams scoring the most goals
6. Team with the fewest penalty minutes
7. Final decision will be made by the tournament committee
